Domesticated Landscapes

Domesticated Landscapes examines the human struggle for habitat. It is a genuine behavioural trait of our species to alter the environment in order to fulfill our very own needs. Eventually this demand of resources has a profound effect on the surrounding landscape.

Las Vegas is the fastest expanding metropolis in the United States, with a population increase of 41.8 per cent from 2000 to 2010. The harsh climate and the nature of the environment increase the city’s need for energy. The creation of a habitat for 575 000+ people within a single decade drastically transformed the terrain.
